I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the massage yesterday. Your motto ‘it’s all about you’ and that is exactly how the whole experience felt, from stepping into your pretty and peaceful room, to chatting to you about my health history and what I wanted from the massage, right up to leaving with the little booklet you gave me about the benefits of massage and how to maximise them afterwards.
I appreciated your discretion in giving me plenty of time to undress and get myself arranged on the couch before you came back in, as this can be a very undignified and embarrassing manoeuvre!
A pet hate of mine is the tinkling ‘New Age’ music so often played by therapists, so it was nice to be asked if I preferred music or silence. The music you played was at a pleasantly low level, which allowed me to drift, and had plenty of variety, so no chance of getting irritated with repetitive plinky plonky.
It was easy to relax on the table knowing that you had already established how much pressure I was comfortable with and the heated wheat bags were warming on my always chilly feet and comforting against my back.
The tension in my shoulders melted away as you worked, and by the end of the massage, I felt as though you had dislodged all the thoughts and worries I brought with me to the session and that they were no longer worth fretting over. In fact the following day I still felt more in my body than usual and more objective about the challenges I am facing. Thank you for the tip about choosing certain key moments throughout the day to remember to relax and roll my shoulders to stop the tension building up again.
I’d advise anyone to schedule in a relaxed, easy day after one of your massages. Fortunately I was able to go home and sleep for a couple of hours. I felt deeply relaxed for the rest of the day and had a full night’s sleep in spite of the nap!
